Ask

Ask A Question In Plain English

These are the questions we get asked before somebody decides to work with us, answered here instead of turned into a phone call. Type a few words and the list narrows to what you asked about.

Every question on this page is answered on it. Nothing is being held back for a sales call.

What we do and where

What services does Tech Dynamix provide?

Managed IT support and service desk, cybersecurity, cloud and Microsoft 365, networking, VoIP and business connectivity, CMMC and HIPAA compliance, security cameras and access control, wireless deployments, and IT consulting and advisory. Backup and business continuity runs underneath most of it.

What areas do you serve?

Northeast Ohio is home base. We have offices in Lake County and Summit County, and we work across the surrounding counties from both. We also support clients in Columbus, in Cincinnati, and out of state.

We publish a page for each of the areas most of our inquiries come from, with local detail on each.

Do you support businesses outside Ohio?

Yes. Our roots and both offices are in Northeast Ohio, and our clients are not confined to it: we support businesses in Columbus, in Cincinnati, and as far away as California, along with remote staff and the out-of-state locations our regional clients run.

Most of the work is remote wherever a client is. If your operation needs frequent hands-on work far from Ohio, we will say so honestly.

Do you offer on-site IT support?

Yes. Most issues are resolved remotely, which gets you working again sooner than waiting for a vehicle would. Installations, hardware failures, surveys, and anything that genuinely needs hands go on the schedule with a person attached.

Which industries do you work in?

Manufacturing, healthcare, finance, legal, construction, business services, and nonprofits, plus public sector, education, and transportation. Most of our clients run between nine and 99 people.

Do you broker phone and internet service?

Yes. Through our partners we source VoIP phone systems, business internet, and multi-circuit connectivity, so the phones and the connection they run over are one company's responsibility rather than two vendors pointing at each other.

Working together

How do we get started?

A conversation, then a look at what you are running. Call 440.210.1362 or send a note, and we will talk about what is not working before anybody proposes anything.

How much does managed IT cost?

Pricing is per device, per server, per network, and per user, so the number depends on the size and shape of your business rather than on a package tier. You know the figure before the month starts.

We will also price it against what you currently pay across all your vendors, which is usually the more revealing comparison.

How does billing work?

A monthly agreement. Project work sits outside it and is quoted separately, so nothing appears on an invoice that you did not agree to first.

Are we locked into a long contract?

Agreements run for a term, because the preventive work only pays off over time and pricing a month at a time would mean pricing for the worst month. The term and the notice period are on the agreement in plain language, and we walk you through both before you sign rather than after.

What does the first month look like?

Documentation first. We record what you have, how it is configured, and what depends on it, before changing any of it. You get that document. Then we agree on an order of work based on what is actually urgent rather than what is easiest to do first.

What if it does not work out?

You give notice under the agreement and we hand over properly: documentation, credentials, and a conversation with whoever is taking over. Holding a client hostage through their own systems is a thing that happens in this industry, and it is not something we will do to you.

Support

How do our staff get help?

They contact us directly, through the client portal or the service desk. There is no internal gatekeeper deciding whether a problem is worth passing on, which is usually the bottleneck we were hired to remove.

Do you offer emergency or after-hours support?

Yes. Standard support runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern. Emergency support for critical issues runs 24/7, because a server that fails at 9 p.m. on a Friday does not wait until Monday to matter.

What counts as critical is defined in your agreement rather than decided in the moment, which is worth settling while nothing is on fire.

How quickly do you respond?

We agree on priorities with you in writing, so that "urgent" means the same thing to both of us, and we tell you honestly how we are doing against them. What we will not do is publish a blanket response time. Being reachable and being finished are different claims, and only one of them is honest to promise.

Do you offer co-managed IT?

Yes, and it is common. Your team keeps control and we fill the gaps: after-hours cover, specialist work, projects, and the monitoring that runs whether or not anybody is in. It suits organizations that need more capacity without another full-time hire.

How co-managed works

Do you work with our other vendors?

Yes, and it is part of the job. Your line-of-business software vendor, your internet provider, your copier company. Clients tell us this is one of the parts they are most relieved to hand over.

Security and compliance

Can you help with cybersecurity and compliance?

Yes. Layered protection that is monitored rather than just installed, security awareness training, backup you can actually recover from, and readiness work for CMMC and HIPAA.

Can you guarantee we will not be breached?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. What we can tell you is exactly what protection is in place, what it is watching, what it has caught, and what we would do on the day something gets through. That is more useful than a promise.

Our insurer sent a questionnaire we cannot answer. Can you help?

Yes, and this is now one of the more common reasons companies call us. We help you answer it accurately. Where the honest answer is no, we would rather fix the gap than help you word around it: an inaccurate answer on a cyber policy is a problem you discover at claim time.

Do you handle CMMC and HIPAA?

Yes. We assess against the standard that applies to you, build a plan for the gaps, do the work, and keep the evidence current. We do not certify you, and no company that prepares you should also assess you.

Fit

How big does a company need to be?

Most of our clients run between nine and 99 employees. Below that, a full agreement is often more than a business needs and we will say so. Above that, an internal team usually exists and we work alongside it.

What makes you different from other providers?

Our client roster is deliberately limited, which is what lets the same people learn your business instead of reading a ticket cold. You get a long-term partnership rather than cookie-cutter fixes, and decisions about your account get made by people you can meet.

The longer answer

We already have an IT person. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We take the after-hours load, the specialist work, and the projects, so your person stops being a single point of failure. Those arrangements work best when your IT person is in the room while the split is agreed.

Do we have to move everything at once?

No. Most engagements start with the part that hurts most, and the rest follows on a schedule you agree to. Nothing moves before both of us understand what it does.

If you would rather just ask a person

How this goes

1. Read the answer to the thing you came for

The list narrows as you type. There is no sign up and nothing is held back.

2. Ask the one that is not on the list

A person reads it and replies. There is no obligation on either side and no sales sequence behind it.

3. Decide in your own time

Plenty of people read these, get what they needed, and never write to us. That is a perfectly good outcome for this page.

Ask us something that is not on the list

Type the question the way you would say it out loud. A person reads it and answers.
