How we help
Switch From Your Current MSP
Something changed, and the IT service you get now is no longer what you signed up for. Here's how a planned switch to Tech Dynamix works.
We hear two versions most often. One is a small shop that served you well when you were both smaller and is now stretched too thin to keep up. The other is a provider that was acquired, after which the people you knew left and the quality of the answers changed. Our post on why businesses leave their IT provider covers both patterns in more detail.
We won't criticize whoever you're with. We haven't seen their side of it, and a provider who leads with what the last one did badly is showing you what they'll say about you later. What we will do is look at your environment and tell you what we find. Sometimes the answer is small. In one case study, a year of open support tickets was solved in our first meeting.
Switching managed IT providers is less disruptive than most people fear, as long as it's planned. Handovers go wrong when nobody wrote down how the environment works, because the new provider then has to rediscover it while your staff wait. We start with documentation, and we do it before you have to give anyone notice. What a methodical IT onboarding looks like walks through each stage.
Signs It's Time to Switch IT Providers
- The people you deal with keep changing, and each one starts from scratch.
- Your provider was acquired, and the service changed afterward.
- You're told everything is fine, and your staff say otherwise.
- Nobody has raised a plan or a risk with you in the past year.
- You can't get a straight answer about what you own or what it's licensed for.
How Switching Managed IT Providers Works
Step 1
We assess without changing anything
We review your environment and give you a written IT assessment. Nothing changes while we do it, and you don't need to give anybody notice.
Step 2
You see the gap in writing
The report lists what's in place and what's missing, with our recommendation for each gap. If your current provider is doing a good job, the report says so.
Step 3
A planned transition
Documentation comes first, then credentials, then the handover, in an order that keeps your business working. We deal with the outgoing provider so you don't have to referee it, the same way our vendor management handles other IT suppliers.

Questions About Switching IT Providers
How disruptive is switching?
Less than people expect when it's planned, and painful when it isn't. The difference is documentation. We build that record before any handover starts, so the transition is a sequence of known steps and nobody is discovering your network on your time. Our page on why businesses choose Tech Dynamix covers how we work once you're a client.
We're locked into a contract. Is it worth talking now?
Yes, and earlier is better. Learning how your environment works takes time, and doing that groundwork before your notice period starts lets the switch happen on a schedule. Our guide to managed IT services contract terms covers contract length and what to check before you sign the next one.
Will you tell us our current provider is bad?
Only if it's true and we can show you why. We'll tell you what we find in your environment. Sometimes that reflects badly on somebody, and sometimes it turns out you have a decent provider and a communication problem, which is worth knowing before you spend money changing. The Tech Dynamix FAQ answers more questions about contracts and the first month.
