Manufacturing

IT Services for Manufacturing

A plant should not stop because the office network is having a bad day. Manufacturing technology has two halves, usually managed as though they were one.

What we see in manufacturing

The plant floor runs on its own rules

Machine controllers run software the manufacturer froze years ago, cannot be patched on a normal schedule, and cannot go offline mid-shift. Treating that equipment like an office computer is how a maintenance window turns into lost production.

Your customers are passing requirements down

If you supply defense or aerospace, CMMC has arrived through your primes rather than through a regulator. The requirement is real, the evidence has to be organized, and the timeline is somebody else's.

Coverage where the work happens

Scanners and tablets have to keep their connection while moving through racking and around machinery. Office-grade wireless does not survive a plant floor.

One person knows everything

In most plants we walk into, the entire technology history lives in the head of one maintenance lead who has been there 20 years. That is a risk, and it is usually not one anybody has named out loud.

How we approach it

We separate what should be separated. Production equipment, office systems, and guest access belong on different segments, which limits how far a problem can travel and is frequently the specific thing a customer audit asks about.

We document the plant as it actually is, including the equipment nobody wants to touch. That record is what makes every later decision cheaper, and it is what a CMMC assessment will ask you to produce.

We plan around your shifts. Maintenance happens when the line is down, not when it suits a ticketing queue, and we will tell you in advance which weekend we need.

The short version

Network management, equipment monitoring, ERP support, and the CMMC requirements your defense and aerospace customers pass down.

In their words

The up-time of our network and servers is critical to our day-to-day operations. Tech Dynamix has been an intricate piece of our business by providing us with prompt and reliable services. Tech Dynamix can always be counted on to be there when we need them.

Common questions

Do we need CMMC?

It depends on whether you handle federal contract information or controlled unclassified information, and at what level. Many manufacturers discover the answer through a prime contractor rather than directly. The first conversation is about scoping, because scope is what drives the cost of everything after it.

Can you work with our machine vendors?

Yes, and that coordination is part of the job. Machine vendors often have firm requirements about what may touch their controller, and those requirements have to be designed around rather than argued with.

Will this interrupt production?

The plan is built to avoid it. We schedule around your shifts and tell you honestly which steps carry risk. Anything that could stop a line gets a written fallback before it happens.
