In 2006 I helped start Tech Dynamix as a small IT support shop in Northeast Ohio. The work was break-fix: a business called us when something broke, and we drove out and fixed it.
By 2010 the problem with that model was clear. We got paid when things went wrong, and our clients needed us to keep things from going wrong in the first place. So we moved to managed IT services, where clients pay a monthly fee and our job is prevention. We've worked that way ever since.
Over the next decade the work grew past day-to-day support. We took on network design, server rooms and long-term technology planning, and we put more of our time into security as attacks on small businesses became routine.
In 2020 a lot of businesses found out how much they depended on everyone being in one building. Many of our clients didn't have that problem. We had already set them up to work from home, from a job site or from the road, so when everyone had to stay home, they kept running.
That same year, the owner of Tech Dynamix retired and I bought the company. It has been owner-operated since, and I intend to keep it that way.
What hasn't changed is why we do this. I got into this work to help small and mid-sized businesses use technology to grow instead of fighting with it. That's still the goal, and it's why we keep the same technicians on each account and write down how every system is set up.
One client put it this way:
“Tech Dynamix is a big reason we are able to grow our business. Their customer service is out of this world. They are extremely responsive and resolve our issues quickly. Give them a call, you will not regret it.”
In our twentieth year we added structured cabling and business phone systems, along with security cameras and door access control, so more of a client's technology sits with one team. We were also named a top 5 Emerging Business finalist in the 2026 Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50, which I'm proud of.
To our clients: thank you for trusting us with your technology. A lot of you have been with us almost as long as we've been around, and one church has been a client for twenty years. To our team: clients stay because of the work you do every day, and I'm grateful for it.
Twenty years in, and we're just getting started.
Thank you,
