VoIP & Business Connectivity
When the phones and the internet come from two different vendors, every problem starts with the two of them explaining that it belongs to the other one.
Who this is for, and what it fixes
Your phone system and your internet are two vendors who each say the problem belongs to the other one.
If one of these sounds familiar, this is usually the right conversation.
- Your phone system is old enough that parts are getting difficult.
- Your staff work from more than one place and the phones do not.
- Your internet and your phones are separate vendors who disagree.
- You are moving premises and would rather not move the old system with you.
What you get out of it
- The phones and the internet are one company to call.
- A number can be answered from a desk, a laptop, or a phone in a parking lot.
- You know what you are paying for the circuit and what for the service.
- An outage has a plan attached rather than a queue of hold music.
What we do about it
We handle both, so there is nobody to hand you off to. If a call quality problem turns out to be a circuit problem, that is still our problem to solve.
A modern phone system also stops tying your staff to a desk. The same number reaches somebody whether they are in the office, at a site, or at home, and you are not paying for a physical line per person to make that true.
We design the call flow around how your business actually answers, which usually takes one conversation and saves a great deal of irritation later. Who picks up first, what happens at lunchtime, and where a call goes when nobody is there.
What is included
Hosted phone service
Calling, voicemail, and call routing without a phone system in a closet that somebody has to maintain.
Number porting
Your existing numbers move with you. This is the step that worries people most and it is a routine part of the work.
Call flow design
Built around how your business answers, including what happens outside your hours.
Business internet
Circuits sourced, installed, and managed, with a backup connection where the operation justifies it.
Handsets and headsets
Specified, configured, and delivered ready to use, rather than shipped in a box for somebody to work out.
One provider for both
When the phones and the connection are the same responsibility, a call quality problem has one owner.
How it works, step by step
- We look at what you have and what you are paying for itCurrent handsets, current contracts, current bandwidth. Existing agreements have end dates and those dates decide what is worth doing when.
- We broker the circuit and the serviceWe go to the carriers on your behalf rather than reselling you one relationship, and we tell you what each option actually delivers at your address.
- We design the call flow before we install anythingWho rings, in what order, and what happens after hours. A phone system inherits the confusion of the one before it unless somebody draws this.
- We support both halves afterwardsWhen a call quality problem is really a circuit problem, there is nobody to hand it to. That is the whole reason these two live on one page.
Voice quality is a network problem
Most complaints about a hosted phone system are actually complaints about the network carrying it. That is precisely why we would rather do both. When we design the network and the phone system together, call quality stops being a matter of opinion between two vendors.
Common questions
How is this priced?
Per handset or per user for the phone service, and the internet circuit at what the carrier charges, which we show you rather than mark up quietly.
Installation and call flow design are quoted once, and the hardware is yours to keep.
Will we keep our phone numbers?
Yes. Porting existing numbers is a standard part of the project. It takes planning and a firm date, and we manage that with the carrier rather than leaving it with you.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Calls can be set to fail over to mobile numbers automatically, so the phones do not simply stop. Where the operation justifies it we also install a second connection. We will talk through what that is worth for your business rather than selling it by default.
Is this cheaper than what we have?
Usually, though not always, and it depends on what you are paying for lines today. We will price it against your current bill and show you the comparison. If it is not worth moving, we will tell you that.
