Accessibility Statement

We want this site to work for everyone who comes to it, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or a display with the colors turned down.

What we aim for

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard we hold it to, and where it falls short we would like to know.

What we have done

• Every page uses proper headings, landmarks, and lists, so the structure makes sense without seeing it.
• Everything works from a keyboard, and the focus outline is always visible.
• There is a skip link to the main content at the top of every page.
• Images carry alt text, and images that are decoration are marked as decoration.
• Forms have real labels, and errors are described in words next to the field they belong to.
• Nothing on this site uses color as the only way to tell you something. Every status carries a text label or an icon as well.
• We do not pair red with green anywhere, which matters for the most common form of color blindness.
• Motion is reduced automatically if your device asks for that.

How we check

Contrast is measured by a script rather than trusted to somebody's eye. It reads the stylesheet, works out which color actually wins on each element and what it sits on, and reports every pairing on the site. Every one of them currently meets the AA threshold, in the light theme and in the dark one. We run it before anything ships, and a failure stops the change rather than being written down and lived with.

Where we depend on somebody else

Parts of this site are provided by other companies: the booking calendar, the reviews panel, and analytics when it is switched on. We chose them, so we own the decision, but we do not control their markup and we cannot promise their behavior matches ours. If one of them is the thing standing between you and what you came here for, tell us and we will get you the same result another way.
