Mobile Device Management

Company data lives on phones now. The question is not whether that is true, it is whether you could do anything about a handset that walked out of a parking lot this afternoon.

Devices are enrolled before they reach the person using them, with the settings, mail profile, and applications already on them. A new starter gets a phone that works on day one rather than a lunchtime spent typing server names into a mail app.

From there the fleet is a list you can actually see: what is out there, who has it, what version it is running, and which devices are encrypted. When a phone is lost, or when somebody leaves on bad terms, company data comes off it without touching the family photographs beside it.

The same applies to personal phones with work mail on them, which is most of them. Work data sits in its own container with its own rules, so protecting the business does not mean claiming ownership of somebody's own handset.

What this covers

  • Enrollment and configuration before a device reaches its user, on company and personal handsets alike.
  • Encryption, passcode, and screen lock policy applied and reported rather than requested.
  • Work data kept separate from personal data, so a wipe takes the first and leaves the second.
  • Remote lock and selective wipe for a lost device or a departing employee.
  • Application and operating system updates pushed on a schedule, with a record of what is behind.
  • A current inventory of the fleet, which is also the evidence an insurer or an auditor asks for.

Common questions

Do you repair phones and tablets?

No, and we used to. Mobile fleet repair is not something we offer anymore. We manage the devices, we handle warranty and replacement through the hardware partners we buy from, and for a cracked screen we will tell you honestly where to take it.

Can you manage phones our staff own themselves?

Yes, and that is the common case. Work mail and files sit in a managed container on the device, which we can remove on its own. We do not see personal messages, photographs, or browsing, and we can show your staff exactly what the arrangement does and does not allow.

What happens when somebody leaves?

Their access is withdrawn and the work container comes off the device, on the same offboarding routine that handles their accounts. It is one step in a list rather than a separate thing somebody has to remember.
