Cabling & Low-Voltage

Racks and Server Rooms

The equipment your business runs on is sitting on a shelf in a closet, and the closet is warm.

We build and clean up the rooms your network lives in: racks, patch panels, power, cable management, and enough space to get a hand behind the equipment. It is the least glamorous work we do and the work that most changes how long the next change takes.

Power and cooling get decided rather than discovered. A closet that was fine with one switch behaves differently with a server, a battery, and a recorder in it, and heat is the reason equipment fails early in buildings where nobody expected a machine room.

The result is a room somebody else can work in, which matters more than it sounds. Your electrician, your phone vendor, and whoever comes after us all pay for a room that only one person understood.

What this covers

  • Racks and cabinets sized for what goes in them and what comes next.
  • Patch panels, cable management, and labeling that matches the drawing.
  • Power, battery backup, and cooling considered together rather than one at a time.
  • Consolidation of equipment scattered across closets and desks.
  • Cleanup of an existing room, in place, without a rebuild where one is not needed.

Common questions

Can this be done without taking us offline?

Mostly, and the parts that cannot are planned into a window you agree. A rack rebuild is a sequence of small moves rather than one big one, which is what keeps the downtime to the pieces that genuinely have to move.

Is our closet actually a problem?

It might not be. Plenty of small businesses run perfectly well out of a well-ventilated closet. It becomes a problem when the equipment in it grows past what the room was ever asked to do, and temperature is usually the first honest signal.

Cable, racks, and room technology installed to a standard and labeled, so what runs on top of it is not troubleshooting the wiring.
