How we help

Fully Managed IT Services

Somebody in your business is the unofficial IT person. It was never their job, and it is getting in the way of the one they were hired for.

This is where most of our clients start. There is no IT department, so problems go to whoever is best with computers: an office manager, a controller, sometimes the owner. It works, right up until the week it is busy, which is the same week something breaks.

The real cost is rarely the outage. It is that nothing preventive happens. Backups are assumed rather than tested, patching runs when somebody clicks the reminder, and nobody is watching for the failing drive that announces itself three days in advance. Small problems get the chance to become the kind that stop a working day.

We become the department you were never big enough to hire. Your staff call us directly, the unglamorous work runs continuously in the background, and the person who was doing it goes back to their actual job.

This usually sounds familiar

  • The person handling technology has a completely different job title.
  • You are not certain when a backup was last tested, or whether it works.
  • Nobody can produce a list of what you own and what it costs.
  • A problem last month took longer to fix than the business could afford.
  • An insurer or a customer has asked security questions nobody could answer.

What happens next

Step 1

We look at what you have

Before anything changes, we document what you are running, what state it is in, and what depends on it. You get that document whether or not you hire us.

Step 2

You get a plain list

What is fine, what is near the end of its life, and what we would deal with first. Sorted by what actually matters rather than by what is easiest to sell.

Step 3

We take it on at your pace

Most engagements start with the part that hurts most. The rest follows on a schedule you agree, not one we impose.

Common questions

What happens to the person who has been doing it?

That is your call, and both answers are common. Usually they are relieved to hand it over and go back to the job they were hired for. Sometimes they enjoy it and stay involved, and we work alongside them.

Do we have to replace everything to start?

No. We document first and change second. Some of what you have will be fine for years. You decide the order and the pace, against a list that tells you what each thing actually costs you to leave alone.

Are we big enough for this to be worth it?

Most of our clients run between nine and 99 people. Below that a full agreement is often more than a business needs, and we will tell you so rather than selling you something you cannot sustain.
