Cameras & Access Control

Door Access Control

Physical keys are hard to track and expensive to rotate. Electronic access control replaces them with credentials you can grant, limit, and revoke in minutes.

Access control replaces keys you cannot account for. Somebody leaves and their access ends that afternoon, without changing a lock or hoping the key comes back.

You get a record of who opened which door and when. That matters for investigating an incident, and in several industries it is a requirement rather than a convenience.

We do not put a reader on every door by default. Exterior doors, the server room, and anywhere holding regulated material or valuable stock is where most systems should start, and we walk the building with you.

What this covers

  • Credentials issued and revoked centrally, including from off site.
  • A record of who opened what and when.
  • Schedules, so doors unlock and secure themselves.
  • Integration with the camera system, so an event has footage attached.
  • A walk of the building to decide which doors actually justify it.

Common questions

Do we need this on every door?

Almost never. Exterior doors, the server room, and anywhere holding regulated material or valuable stock is a common starting point.

What happens in a power cut?

That is a design decision made deliberately and in line with fire code: doors either fail secure or fail safe depending on which door it is. We work through that with you rather than leaving it to the installer's default.
