Marketing and Web

Web and SEO Specialist

Two audiences: our clients, and ourselves. You build and maintain client websites and run their search optimization, then keep our own site and marketing moving when the client pipeline is quiet. Themes and page builders rather than blank canvas design, and no code.

The job

This role has two audiences: our clients, and ourselves.

The primary work is client facing. You build and maintain websites for Tech Dynamix clients, keep them current, run their search optimization, and report back to those clients on what changed and what it produced. Client work comes first whenever the pipeline is active.

The secondary work is our own marketing: our website, what we publish, our campaigns, and the vendor co-op programs that currently go unused. When client demand is light, that is where your time goes.

You will work inside existing themes and page builders. You do not need to design a site from a blank canvas, and you do not need to write code.

Full-time and exempt. Reports to the Owner and General Manager.

What you would be doing

Client websites, which come first

  • Build client websites in WordPress themes, page builders, and comparable platforms
  • Maintain live client sites: content changes, plugin and platform updates, and the fixes nobody else is going to notice
  • Work directly with client business owners to gather what they need, show them options, and agree what is in scope
  • Run several client projects at once and hold the dates you committed to
  • Track your time against client work accurately, because some of it is billable and some is delivered under a managed services agreement

Client search optimization, which also comes first

  • Keyword research and competitive analysis for client businesses
  • On-page work: titles, metadata, headings, internal linking, and content structure
  • Local search: Google Business Profile, citations, and location pages, which is what most of our clients actually need
  • Client reporting that explains ranking and traffic movement in business terms rather than in metrics

Our own marketing, when the client pipeline allows

  • Own the Tech Dynamix website
  • Write and publish blog posts and service pages on a schedule a reader could set a watch by
  • Interview our engineers and our clients, and turn that into case studies with outcomes somebody could check
  • Build campaign landing pages, and measure what they converted
  • Run the social accounts, and send email campaigns to people who asked for them
  • Administer vendor and manufacturer co-op marketing programs and market development funds
  • Report on site and campaign analytics, with an interpretation attached rather than a data export

What you need

Applicants must meet all of the following.

  • Two to four years of professional experience building and maintaining websites in a content management system or page builder
  • Hands-on WordPress experience: themes, plugins, and a page builder such as Elementor, Divi, or Beaver Builder, or equivalent depth in another platform
  • Search optimization experience you can explain concretely: what you changed, what moved, and how you knew
  • Working proficiency with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders, gathering requirements, setting expectations, and delivering to a date
  • The ability to run several projects at once without dropping a commitment
  • Clear written English, and the ability to edit your own work
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Able to work on-site full-time at the Painesville office

Send links to at least three live websites you personally built or substantially rebuilt, and one search result you can walk through in an interview. Include the links. The portfolio is the application, and we can’t consider one without it.

What helps

  • Agency or freelance work building sites for several clients at once, which is the closest thing to this job
  • Local search and Google Business Profile management
  • Email marketing platform experience
  • Enough HTML and CSS to diagnose a theme or layout problem
  • Working design ability in Canva, Figma, or Adobe, sufficient for clean graphics
  • Marketing for business to business or professional services
  • Vendor co-op, market development fund, or channel marketing program experience
  • Familiarity with website hosting, DNS, and certificates

What this role is not

  • Not a visual design role. You will work inside existing themes and page builders. If your background is blank canvas design and you want to art direct, you will find this constraining.
  • Not a development role. No custom theme development and no application work. Light HTML and CSS for troubleshooting is useful. Writing code is not the job.
  • Not a pure content marketing role. Roughly half your time is spent building and maintaining other companies' websites to a deadline.
  • Not an agency-supported role. There is no team behind you. You build it, publish it, optimize it, and report on it.
  • Not remote or hybrid. On-site five days a week in Painesville.

What good looks like in a year

  • Client website projects delivered on the dates you committed to, without anybody escalating
  • Every client site under management current and working
  • Measurable organic search improvement for clients on the local and service terms they care about
  • Client reporting a business owner can read and then do something with
  • The Tech Dynamix website current, publishing on a rhythm
  • The vendor co-op marketing money that is available to us actually used

Working conditions

Office based, with occasional travel to client sites to gather requirements, interview people for case studies, and take photographs.

What everybody here gets

These come with the job, whichever job it is.

Paid weekly

Payday is every Friday, by direct deposit, for the week before. Most of this industry pays twice a month.

Paid time off

PTO accrues every pay period, and the rate grows with your length of service. Up to 80 hours carries into the next year.

Ten paid holidays

Six company holidays, plus four floating days a year that you choose and your supervisor schedules.

Direct Primary Care

Group health coverage through a direct primary care arrangement, which means seeing a doctor without starting with an insurance process.

Bereavement leave

Three paid days for an immediate family member, and one paid day for an extended family member, somebody you were close to, or a pet.

Jury duty leave

Serve without it coming out of your PTO. Give us the summons when you get it and that is the end of the admin.

A schedule with some give

Eight hours inside an 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. window with a full hour for lunch. Eight to five and nine to six are both normal, and other shifts get approved.

Mileage and expenses

Approved travel is reimbursed on a submitted log, and business expenses on itemized receipts. Your commute is not travel, and nobody pretends otherwise.

401(k) matching

The company matches the first 3 percent of your pay dollar for dollar, then half of the next 2 percent. Put in 5 percent and the company puts in 4.

Donation matching

Give to a cause you care about and the company gives alongside you. What you support is yours to choose.

Training and certification

Certifications paid for and time made for them, plus leadership tracks and internships.

Referral program

Rewards for referrals, for everybody on the payroll rather than only the people in sales.
