Public sector

IT Services for Government

You are answerable to residents for services and for the data behind them, usually without anybody on staff whose job is technology.

What we see in the public sector

No in-house technical staff

Most townships and municipalities have nobody dedicated to this. It falls to a clerk, an administrator, or whoever is willing, on top of the job they were elected or hired to do.

You are a known target

Public sector organizations are attacked because they hold useful data and are widely assumed to be under-resourced. That assumption is often correct, which is the part worth changing.

Public records cut both ways

You have to retain and produce records on request, and protect the ones that are not public. Those are two different obligations on the same systems.

Budgets are annual and public

Spending is planned a year ahead and scrutinized in the open, so a surprise replacement is a difficult conversation as well as an expensive one.

How we approach it

We become the technical staff you do not have. Residents and employees get systems that work, and nobody in your office has to become an accidental administrator.

We separate what should be separated and put real protection on the data that matters, because the systems holding resident information should not be reachable from the public counter.

We plan replacements against your budget cycle rather than ours, so a request can be written while there is still time to get it approved.

The short version

Public records, resident data, and continuity of service for organizations with no spare technical headcount.

Common questions

How does this work with public procurement?

We are used to it. Quotes are written to be read by a board or a council, itemized, and comparable against others, because that is what your process requires and hiding costs in a bundle helps nobody.

We have almost no technology budget. Is it worth talking?

Yes, and we will be honest about it. Sometimes the answer is that three specific things need fixing and a full agreement is not the right purchase. We would rather tell you that than sell you something a future council cancels.

Can you help with cyber insurance requirements?

Yes. Insurers now ask public entities the same specific questions they ask everyone: multi-factor authentication, tested backups, monitored endpoints. We help you answer accurately and fix what needs fixing first.
